FAU Diplomacy Program Cements its Status as the No. 1 Academic Diplomacy Program in the Nation
Tuesday, Nov 14, 2023Florida Atlantic University’s Leon Charney Diplomacy Program in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters has cemented its status as the No. 1 academic diplomacy program in the nation. The program recently notched its sixth national title in Washington, D.C., receiving a conference-record nine delegation awards and two position paper awards.
“We are all so proud of our students for putting in weeks of preparation and performing at the highest level,” said Haven Gray, FAU faculty chairperson for the delegation.
Three different colleges and 94 undergraduate students represented FAU at the competition, which included 65 universities from the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Established in 1996, the diplomacy program competes in national competitions in the fall (Washington, D.C.) and the spring (New York City) and will complete in its third international competition in 2024 in the Galapagos Islands.
